One thing that always confuses me ...Excellent post. One thing that always confuses me is the subjective idea of 'who can afford it', a person with €100,000 on deposit may seem rich if that is the only data point, but if they are aged 72, unable to work again and in decent health this could represent their remaining income for life. Equally a person with €5,000 may seem poor but but in their mid 20's, advancing their career and have a happy prosperous future to look forward to.
