This is a subtle but very significant inte...Seamus<br /><br />This is a subtle but very significant interpretative difference in the mortgage arrears stats.<br /><br />To my mind the fault lies not in the reporter but in the presentation of the data itself.<br />Most readers will take an arrears subset restructured mortgages to mean that restructured mortgages have fallen into arrears. Apparently is does not mean that.<br /><br />Your analysis means that there is hidden in that restructured arrears subset, mortgages that are now performing but have arrears on them since before restructuring.<br /><br />I must look at the data when I get more time.<br />The fault here is that banks or the regulator in not presenting meaningful or understandable data.<br />The question is do they have that data in presentable format and if they do why is it not presented in a meaningful way.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Joseph Ryanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07581632829548894401noreply@blogger.com
